Description
Boadicea’s Tarot of Earthly Delights is a stunning and unique deck featuring Paula Millet’s lavish collage art. This fully illustrated 80 card tarot deck is in the RWS style. Please note that the card back design is subtly asymmetrical, in keeping with the richly ornate style of the deck.
The collage illustrations for Boadicea’s Tarot of Earthly Delights are transformative artworks. Each of them is much more than the sum of its parts. Through extensive recombination and photo editing of the components, original new works were created. The individual collages each contain elements from at least five or six–and often up to as many as a dozen–different public domain sources. Each card image supports the deck’s cohesive gestalt.
With quirky imagery and humorous juxtaposition of elements, the collages are presented as whimsical parodies of classical paintings; especially those works originally created to appeal to the robber barons and upper classes of America’s gilded age.
The 212 page, full color companion book was written by Caroline Kenner in collaboration with deck creator Paula Millet. This Numbered First Edition set includes oversize 3.5″ x 5.5″ cards, full color perfect bound guidebook, set into a beautiful, sturdy 2-part lidded box.
This is also available as a money saving bundle with the “Manifesting Magic with Boadicea’s Tarot of Earthly Delights” book. Find the bundle set here.
Paula Millet: Deck Creator, Reader’s Companion Co-author
Paula is an exhibit designer, graphic artist, and digital collage artist. She has had a career working for museums, higher education, and other interesting organizations. As much as she enjoys this professional work, she also wished to do design projects just for her own amusement. Over the years she dreamed of creating her own Tarot deck, hence: Boadicea’s Tarot of Earthly Delights.
Paula loves Tarot for the artistry and use of symbolism, and for each card’s iconic story-telling power.
